Show your arcana appreciation by redesigning a book cover of your choice from the Teen Summer Reading Challenge book list into a Major Arcana card!

The Tower - Summer's Edge

Summer’s Edge follows a group of friends who lost one of their friends to a lake house fire as, summers later, they work to find out what happened all while being haunted. I thought that the Major Arcana card of The Tower would be a good way to represent the burning of the lake house as the card represents disaster, trauma and foundational shifts. This book had a lot of toxic friendships and relationships and a shared traumatic experience based on the friend group’s foundations shifting.
Submit your design, including the book title, arcana name of your card, and a short description for your reasoning, to the Morgan by Sunday, October 4, 2026. Three winners will be selected and will each be awarded a $100 Morgan Shop gift card. Prizes are non-transferable. The winner’s designs will be published on the Morgan’s website and shared on select social media channels.
Contest Guidelines:
- Entrants must live, work, or go to school in one of the five boroughs of New York City.
- Entrants must be between thirteen and nineteen years of age as of the date of entry.
- Submissions must be written in English.
- Entries may explore mature themes; however, explicit, graphic, or otherwise inappropriate content is not permitted. All writing and artwork must be the original work of the entrant.
- The use of AI to generate, edit, or enhance writing or images is not permitted.
- Participants may use any medium to design their card.
- We recommend submitting a scanned or photographed version of your finished work.
- Tarot Cards should be submitted in PDF, JPEG, PNG, or HEIC formats.
- Challenge begins at 12:00:01 AM ET on Friday, June 26, 2026, and ends at 11:59:59 PM ET on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
- Limit one entry per person, per email address.
- Winners will be notified by Friday, October 16, 2026.
