16th-century French olive morocco, gold-tooled, with inlays (of light brown, dark brown, and reddish-brown morocco), and black paint, over Greek-style wooden boards (34 x 21 cm), attributed to Claude de Picques for Thomas Mahieu, ca. 1550-1555. Plain paper pastedowns and endleaves; decorative endbands; gilt edges. 4 braided pin clasps, missing.
