Covers probably originally on a Dogale (ducal commission), removed from book block prior to Morgan purchase. 16th-century Venetian red morocco with sunk panels, gold-tooled and painted; on the upper cover the lion of St. Mark stamped in gold; on lower cover in center of same design, an unidentified coat of arms, damaged (red cross with 1st and 4th in gold). 4 silk ties.
