Binding: 
16th century German calf binding, gold tooled, with Melancthon and Luther panel portraits and roll border composed of Christ Child and three putti. Bound for Georg Stover of Dillenburg, with his initials and date 1566 on upper board; probably by Thomas Stelbogen of Leipzig (fl. 1543-1578) whose initials are on the Luther panel.
