Exhibition Focuses on the Artistry and Technique of the Sketch by Practitioners such as Valenciennes, Corot, and Constable

Graphic Passion: Matisse and the Book Arts, on view at the Morgan Library & Museum from October 30 to January 18, 2016, brings together thirty of these modern masterpieces and explores Matisse’s creative process.

A beautifully preserved, large-scale drawing by the Florentine Renaissance artist Jacopo Zucchi (ca. 1540–1596) and a masterwork of English literature, Ariosto’s Orlando Furioso, (1591) were recently acquired by the Morgan Library & Museum.
