Visitor Services Supervisor

(Full-time)

The Morgan seeks a full-time Visitor Service Supervisor to facilitate and promote welcoming and positive visitor experiences. The position participates in the training, management, and evaluation of visitor services assistants and monitors the implementation of the admission processes and visitor policies; provides service to callers to the Box Office and Group Sales lines and processes sales transactions for ticketed programs, events, and group tours.

Responsibilities: 
  • Train and supervise Visitor Services Assistants (VSA) in daily operations and public programs support, ensuring superior levels of customer service
  • Become well-versed in all exhibitions, programs, and digital offerings and keep Visitor Services Assistants apprised of current and upcoming exhibitions, programs, and events
  • Respond to Box Office telephone calls and emails, process reservations, reconcile sales and manage cash handling and accounting processes
  • Answer telephone calls and emails to Group Sales lines, provide information and assistance for group reservations, prepare invoices and confirmations, and process group payments
  • Reconcile daily sales for the Admission Desk, oversee cash handling, replenish change, and manage accounting processes
  • Fill in for Visitor Services Manager or other Supervisor as needed
  • Monitor and replenish inventory of supplies and materials related to the Admission Desk, and other areas as required
  • Monitor the appearance and condition of the Admission Desk, Information Desk, and Lobby areas and arranges for cleaning and/or maintenance as required
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the humanities, preferably in a field related to the Morgan's holdings
  • Previous customer service and supervisory experience, especially in a museum or similar attraction setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and POS systems
  • Able to work weekends and/or evening hours as required
  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage several projects simultaneously with attention to detail 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift and move boxes of material (10-15 pounds) and/or stanchions (25 pounds)
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
Compensation: 

$44,000 - $46,000, commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits plan.
