Describing the entrance into Hudson Bay and the view from his hotel; mentioning that the oysters are much larger than in England and that the canvass-backed ducks are a delicacy. Noting that the Archbishop of New York is venerable and delightful. Breaking off his letter by noting that an enslaved man has called him to dinner; reporting the man's speech in a racist and caricatured manner. With a postscript on p. 4 concerning a visit to "W."
