Summary: 

Expressing his pleasure that Lord Cornwallis has been exchanged; consulting him on a nephew who would like to join the Army; asking him to write with all of his news; adding, in a postscript, that he had just received his letter of the 22nd and "I congratulate you on the Success of your Journey to Paris, as you have now given a Specimen of your abilities as a negotiater, I think the Present Ministry may employ you in that Line should our Enemys be disposed to Treat - If there are to be any work for our Troops I hope Lord Cornwallis will have a Command. He has my Sincere good Wishes, so much that I believe I could be persuaded to leave Wife & Child & accompany Him as a Volunteer upon His expedition, was He in want of a Chaplain or Secretary. I am equally Quallyfy'd for both. I am affraid from what I can learn there will be but little intercours between Him & Sir Henry [Clinton]."
