Apologizing that the Chicago Tribune neglected to send a copy of Arkham House's latest collection of Frank Belknap Long's stories titled "The Hounds of Tindalos"; noting that he might publish Marjorie Bowen's "Black Magic"; suggesting Wagenknecht use Gerald Bullett's "The Street of the Eye" for his collection instead of the Bowen text; thanking Wagenknecht for his offer to send a copy of "Sárah Mandrake" by Maggie-Owen Wadelton, but writing that he already has one in his collection; saying there is no update on his correspondence with Marjorie Bowen; closing with news of a new Judge Peck mystery he is finishing, which he predicts will not be very good; predicting he will avoid "whodunits" for the next while.
