Summary
Thanking him for the "list of suggested illustrations, and the principle upon which you have made the selection is excellent. It does not matter tuppence about the butler. My mention of him was only casual. I have used that butler again in another story under another master. The type page is beautiful; but I do not want the 'closeness and compactness of line' to be taken to extremes. It is more important that the page should be easy to read and should be free from any air of affectation, than that it should look beautiful as a whole. This is just a hint."
