Summary:

Mentioning Belle da Costa Greene ("Miss Greene, der Librarian von J. P. Morgan"). Bernays's recent meeting with Greene reminds Freud that before the war she had intended to buy Freud's manuscripts for Pierpont Morgan's collection, and he writes, "I would not mind if the lady reverted to her former intention. I can't imagine how much such manuscripts might be worth. However much it is, they are worthless to me, and if a collector should turn up, I am prepared to turn them into ready money. But, of course, it must be worthwhile, out of mere prestige. Anyway, an interesting revival!" [For unknown reasons, Greene did not buy Freud's papers for Morgan's library, and many of them are now in the Library of Congress.]
