Description:

Hubert of Liáege: Scene, Vision of Christ within Horns of Stag — Hubert of Liáege, nimbed and holding a hunting horn in his right hand, is astride a bridled and saddled horse amid dogs. At the left a man holds a staff in his right hand and the leashes of two dogs in his left hand. At the right on a hillock is a stag with its head turned back. A vision of Christ on the cross is between its antlers. Above, the sun or a star emits rays that touch the head of Hubert. The scene is set in a landscape with bushes, a body of water, a castle, and towers.
The border is inscribed with the motto of Pierre de Bosredont, DI CHOSSON DE NIBORO, with his name, PIERRE DE BOSREDONT, and an invocation to Hubert of Liáege, SANCTE HUMBERE ORA PRO NOBIS. The margins are decorated with floreate ornament, including a viola, inhabited by four dogs. The heraldic shield of Hospitallers (gules, a cross argent) is in the lower margin.
