New York, NY, September 22, 2008—To celebrate the four-hundredth anniversary of the birth of the English poet John Milton (1608–1674), The Morgan Library & Museum presents the only surviving manuscript of Milton's masterpiece Paradise Lost, Book 1 from October 7, 2008, through January 4, 2009 in the Clare Eddy Thaw Gallery.
