In the inaugural Thaw Lecture (held on 5 May 2015), Alastair Laing, 2014–15 Thaw Senior Fellow at the Drawing Institute and longtime curator of paintings for the National Trust in the United Kingdom, investigates the audience for, and function of, the 10,000 drawings Rococo master François Boucher claimed to have produced.
