Instruments of Affection: Mozart's Violin in Concert with Sonnambula

Join us for a rare and extraordinary musical experience: a selection of Mozart’s beloved chamber works performed on the Costa violin, on loan from the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Hear these masterpieces as Mozart himself might have—brought to life by the historically-informed ensemble Sonnambula, using the instrument that helped shape his earliest compositions. The program also features music by Marianna Martines, Mozart’s colleague.

Sonnambula is a historically-informed ensemble that brings to light unknown music for various combinations of early instruments. The ensemble has performed on historic instruments at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, has been featured ensemble at the Amherst and Boston Early Music Festivals, and has presented concerts at Alice Tully Hall, Columbia University, The Hispanic Society of America, among others.

Held Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
