Rubens, Van Dyck, and Jordaens Looking at Old Masters

Peter Paul Rubens, Anthony van Dyck, and Jacob Jordaens are the three greatest and most prolific Flemish artists of the seventeenth century. They were profoundly shaped by the artists who came before them. Guided by Ilona van Tuinen, Annette and Oscar de la Renta Assistant Curator of Drawings and Prints, participants will closely look at the drawings by Rubens, Van Dyck, and Jordaens in the Morgan’s collection to examine the different ways in which these masters recorded and implemented motifs and techniques of artists from antiquity to the Italian and German Renaissance.
