The deck consists of 50 cards, including 24 hand-colored engraved cards depicting 12 male and 12 female street vendors offering a variety of goods like vegetables, fruits, cheeses, cakes, fish, eggs, umbrellas, and flowers; 24 text cards with small rhymes that correspond to the picture cards; Le Commissaire card (i.e. a hand-colored card depicting a judge declaring "Peace, peace," which stops the game); and the Carte blanche.
The game also includes a sheet of instructions printed on a single folded leaf within border.
Engraved label of the department store Alphonse Giroux et Compagnie, Paris, affixed to inner edge of publisher's box.
