Honky-Tonk to Ragtime: Toe Tappin' Tunes Join singer and educator Jennifer S. Greene for an interactive, family-friendly exploration of musical selections by the great nineteenth-century American composers Stephen Foster and Scott Joplin. In this workshop offered to coincide with Mark Twain: A Skeptic's Progress, children will learn about the development of American folk music and ragtime, hear performances by live artists, experiment with a musical washboard and spoons, and sing along with a banjo to "Oh Susanna" and "Camptown Races". Appropriate for ages 6–14. Saturday, November 06, 2010, 2–3 p.m.
