The board consists of a handcolored engraved sheet mounted on linen in eight sections on a single folded sheet of linen; 32 illustrated numbered panels, which show men in various walks of life or pictures of various buildings, are arranged in two concentric, counter-clockwise tracks which lead to a larger un-numbered panel in the center. It shows a group of boys actually playing the game.
Instruction booklet and slipcase lacking.

The game is played with a teetotum and counters, and the order of play, beginning at the outer edge of the spiral at no. 1, "The house of Industry", is based on the players' respective ages.
