Ms. romance of Joussop and Zuleika; written and illuminated in Iran, first half of the 19th century.
Decoration: 4 miniatures (fols. 9v, 103v, 104, 152), 1 illuminated head piece (fol. 1v), 2 floral borders in gold; titles in red on gold panels with colored decoration; each text page framed with gold band, many decorative panels along the text.
Binding: lacquered painted paper boards with flower motifs on black ground, framed in gold border with wavy motifs, leather spine; lacquered doublures with flower paintings and gold floral borders. In a tan seal and figured paper folding case with leather spine by JPW, 1947, labeled: Romance of Joussop Zuleika 19 cent.
