Written and decorated for the wife of William Flemyng (Fleming), who was alive in 1474 (quarterly Lancaster: argent two fesses gules, a lion passant gardant or on a canton of the last; and Fleming: argent fretty gules); purchased by J. Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913) from Pearson in 1912; J.P. Morgan (1867-1943).
Notes: 

Ms. written and decorated in northwest England, last quarter of the 15th century.
Consists of three joined pieces.
Decoration: colored pen and ink drawing of kneeling female owner, arms; continuous decorated border all along left hand side with geometric patterns.
Rolled in a red velvet tube.
