Contemporary German half (75%) undecorated pigskin (blind filets on rear board) over beech boards (31 x 22.5 cm.), sewn on 3 double supports; repaired by Duprez-Lahey. Printed waste (leaf of this edition) on front board and plain paper pastedown on rear board; braided leather endbands. 5 spiral-dome bosses on each board; 1 catch plate, clasp wanting; chain at tail of top board, former attachment on bottom board. Top board title label.

Hand decoration: Rubricated, red lombards and capital strokes. Annotations: Contemporary marginal alphabetic guide to text divisions and list of annotated books added to end of register. Contemporary manuscript quire numbers on each first recto, with "a b c d" on first four leaves of quire [1] and price(?) inscription: ix lb (leaf [1]/2r). Former shelf marks: S carved in top board, and 43 (white on a black square) on spine.
