The drawing, which is placed on the same mount as Morgan IV, 21a (apparently by the same hand), was catalogued as by Jacopo Pontormo while in the Fairfax Murray collection, and later published as Rosso Fiorentino by Bernard Berenson. It is more likely by a seventeenth-century hand.
