Probably a set design for the opera "Caius Marius" by Gaetano Roccaporte, performed at the Teatro Regio in Turin during Carnival 1765.

Inscription: 

Inscribed along lower edge, in pen and brown ink, "Jugurta usurpator del regno della Numidia e tiranno, Mario, lo conduce in trionfo e poi fece morir di fame in / prigione con due suoi figli".
