Inscription: 

Signed and dated by the artist, at upper right, in black chalk, PM ["P" in superscript], "M" in subscript]olyn / 1655". Inscribed on the old mount, in brown ink, "uyt het Cabinet van de Hr: Bernardus Hagelis N ̊31".
Watermark: Shield with fleur-de-lis, over 4 and letters "WR", fragment (similar to Churchill, no. 403: 1686).
