Binding: 
Bound in Rome by Gregorio Andreoli, ca. 1667-69 in reddish-brown morocco over paste-boards, covers decorated in a post-fanfare design and divided into irregularly shaped compartments formed by broad bands enamelled in black, the compartments are filled with leaves, arabesques, and fans composed with four tools; in center of both covers is a large escutcheon surrounded by a dentelle and surmounted by a tasseled cardinal's hat; the escutcheon on the front cover contains unidentified arms, the lower cover escutcheon has been overlaid with the arms of a subsequent owner stamped in gilt on a superimposed shaped red morocco piece; housed in slipcase.
