Ms. single leaf (cutting) of the initial A from "Aspiciens"; taken from an antiphonary that was written and illuminated in Germany, in the vicinity of Cologne, in the last quarter of the twelfth century.
The verso has part of the processional for the first Sunday of Advent--Cf. Nineteenth report to the Fellows of the Pierpont Morgan Library.
