Commissioned in 1256 for the Monastery of S. Matteo de Caleis (S. Matteo del Monte Caio) in the Diocese of Parma near Trivignano by the prior Gregorius; Arnold Mettler-Specker of St. Gall; his sale (Mensing-F. Mülller catalogue, Amsterdam, Nov. 22, 1929, lot 8); (Mensing-F. Müller catalogue, Amsterdam, Apr. 5, 1935, lot. 4); purchased at Mensing Sale (London, Sotheby's, Dec. 16, 1936, lot 243).

Ms. gradual; written and illuminated in north central Italy, in the diocese of Parma near Trevignano, in 1256.
