Louis Phélypeaux II, comte de Pontchartrain (1643-1727), (bookplate); not traced in his sale (Paris, 1747); Rev. Walter Sneyd of Bagington Rectory, Coventry; his sale (London, Sotheby's, Dec. 16, 1903, lot 659); purchased by J.P. Morgan (1867-1943) from Leon Gruel in 1919.

Ms. psalter fragment; written and illuminated in Germany, perhaps Swabia, in the last quarter of the 12th century.
Decoration: 14 full-page drawings outlined in red and black ink, on blue and green grounds and bordered in red; one illuminated initial.
