Provenance: 
Executed for a Beghard or Cistercian congregation; an erased 14th century inscription on fol. 1 appears to read: Iste liber est dom Impis Marie Virginis....; below it is an inscription that reads: Codex e Bibliothecae pp....; purchased by J. Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913) from Ludovic Badin in 1907; J.P. Morgan (1867-1943).

Decoration: 2 full-page miniatures, 79 historiated initials, and decorated initials throughout (see decorated initial "I" on fol. 581v for example).
