Cylinder Seal Necklace
This necklace was inspired by Neo-Babylonian seals, common throughout the eighth and seventh centuries BC. Seals of this type were used for marking property by making imprints in wet clay. These seals – first made of stone or faience (glazed earthenware) and later of glass or semi-precious stone – were usually worn on bracelets or necklaces.
