Yeats on Stage: Down Off His Stilts

In celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the birth of Nobel Prize-winner William Butler Yeats, hear readings and dramatic re-enactments from a selection of his most compelling plays, poems and letters, edited and compiled by former Abbey Theatre literary director Aideen Howard and performed by Alison McKenna, Ciaran O’Reilly and Fiana Toibin from the Abbey Theatre, the national theatre of Ireland. Down Off His Stilts provides insight into Yeats’s life and work during the period which culminated in the foundation of the Abbey. Directed by Jim Culleton and produced by the Abbey Theatre with the support of the Consulate General of Ireland, New York. A selection Yeats’s letters and manuscripts from the Morgan’s collection will be on view in Mr. Morgan's Library at 6 p.m. for program attendees. The program runs approximately 50 minutes.
