Stories play a central role at the Morgan. From Ancient Near Eastern Seals and Tablets and Medieval and Renaissance Manuscripts to Printed Books and Bindings and Literary and Historical Manuscripts, our collections comprise a unique and dynamic record of civilization as well as an incomparable repository of ideas. To inaugurate an annual lecture to celebrate the Morgan’s collections, join Martin Puchner, Byron and Anita Wien Professor of Drama and of English and Comparative Literature at Harvard University (author of The Written World), as he leads us on a journey through time and around the globe to reveal the powerful role stories and literature have played in creating the world we have today.
