Rachel Federman, Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Drawings, discusses the rediscovery of Rick Barton (1928-1992), an extraordinary draftsman of Beat-era San Francisco whose work is now being seen by the public and studied for the first time.

The exhibition Writing a Chrysanthemum: The Drawings of Rick Barton, will be open for program attendees before and after the lecture. 

The lecture will take place in the Morgan's Gilder Lehrman Hall. By entering the museum, you agree to our updated Visitor Guidelines and Policies. Masks are required for attending all public programs.
