Makeda Best, Russell Lord, and Ann Thomas

Museum collections are built to stand the test of history over the long term. But those who build, protect, and interpret those collections change at the pace of human careers. Three photography curators discuss the challenges and opportunities of “inheriting” a collection and adapting it to new times, new purposes, and new visions of the past and the future. Participants include Ann Thomas, interim chief curator the National Gallery of Canada and organizer of The Extended Moment; Makeda Best, Richard L. Menschel Curator of Photography at Harvard University Art Museums; and Russell Lord, Freeman Family Curator of Photographs at the New Orleans Museum of Art.

The exhibition The Extended Moment will be open for program attendees.
