Summary:

Flask in the form of a book. The loop on the top of the "book" unscrews to reveal the opening. The front cover has "Hoćh / lebe das edle / Handiverk / der / Bućhbinder" (i.e. Long live the noble craft of Bookbinding) engraved with a widely spaced double lined border. The spine has raised bands and the engraving "E-P-G-T/S [the two letters are merged onto each other]" with two arrows pointing inwards. The rear cover has "Zunftmeister / Mićhael Kiefs / [decoration] / Meister / Anton Roesćh / Johan Wehle" (i.e. Guild master) engraved with a widely spaced double lined border. It is probable to assume that Anton Roesch and Johan Wehle are his apprentices. Two large, inoperable clasps serve as decorations and could represent the guild master's signature work.
