An interesting example of horn book, the text sheet with alphabet in upper and lower case, etc. concluding with the benediction and the Lord's Prayer.

Binding: 
The base is of wood, covered with brick red paper (Nuremberg?). Embossed on the back with the figure of St. George (probably once in silver) and dragon, now black. The horn cover is clearly original. Part of the brass stripping and two nails are missing. A similar example is described by Tuer, vol. II, p. 158. In a straight-grained snap case lined in green velvet.
