Although this chimneypiece does not appear in Piranesi's "Diverse Maniere," the jambs of this design resemble those in plate 49 (f. 910).

Inscribed at left, in pen and brown ink, "Scudo"; numbered at upper right, inverted, in graphite, "93"; inscribed with initial on verso, in pen and brown ink, "N".
Watermark: Fleur-de-lis inside double circle, surmounted by monogram "CB", fragment.
