Tracy K. Smith, United States Poet Laureate, is a poet of “extraordinary range and ambition.” Her publications include the Pulitzer Prize-winning Life on Mars, Duende, and Ordinary Light, which was a finalist for the National Book Award. Smith has received numerous awards from the Academy of American Poets, the Cave Canem Poetry Prize, the Whiting Award, and the Robert Creeley Award. She is Professor in the Humanities and Director of the Creative Writing Program at Princeton University. The program, followed by a reception, will take place in Pierpont Morgan’s historic library.
