On verso "Elliott & Fry, 55 Baker Street, Portman Square" is printed. Photograph is undated, but Elliott & Fry opened their studio in 1863 and Froude died in 1894.
A note on the envelope that holds this carte de visite as follows: "Froude's Picture (From collection of photographs, at Brantwood, in the F.J. Sharp Collection)."
