Notes: 

The present sheet is a study for Vincent's painting "The Marquis de la Galaizière Created Chancellor of Lorraine at the Château of Meudon by King Stanislaus of Poland, 18 January 1737", on deposit at the Musée Historique Lorrain, Nancy, from the collection of the Musée du Château de Versailles. It was commissioned in 1778 by the marquis to celebrate the annexation of Lorraine to France in 1735.
