Copy after the lower half of Paolo Veronese's altarpiece of the "Martyrdom of St. Sebastian" of 1561 on the high altar of San Sebastiano, Venice.

Inscription: 

Inscribed at lower left, on old album page, in pen and dark brown ink, "Farinato".
Watermark: Circle, bisected, surmounted by pole with three triangular segments attached. Same as 1993.133 and 1993.140.

Provenance: 
Moscardo collection, Verona, which passed to the Marquis de Calceolari (no mark; see Lugt S. 2990a-g); Janos Scholz, New York (no mark; see Lugt S. 2933b), at least since 1969.
