Provenance:
Léon Bakst; Lucien Goldschmidt; acquired in 1962 by Donald M. Oenslager.
Notes:

This may be a scene design for the "Orphee" performed at Le Théâtre Royale de Bourbon in Paris in 1647. Charles Errand worked with Torelli on this production, which was a failure. Much of the scenery was used in 1650 for "Andromede".

Associated names:

Oenslager, Donald, 1902-1975, former owner.
Bakst, Léon, 1866-1924, former owner.
