The fund in question was the Artist's Joint Stock Fund, and the Mr. Muss mentioned in the inscription is Charles Muss (1779-1824), enamel painter, etcher, and stained glass artist, who lived at 53 Warren Street, London.
Inscription:
"Mr Mulready at one of the / Meetings on the increase of the Annuity / for superannuated Members of the Fund / at Mr Muss's Warren St. June 10. 1823" and below "20 by 24 inches / W. Mulready"
