Manuscript fragments from a Pauline Epistles; written in Egypt.
Written area ca. 302 x 229 mm. Divisions: Title dot-and-dash divider setting off Epistles; major initial and paragraphus sign (vine-scroll coronis) setting off minor textual units; ekthesis, slightly enlarged initial, and paragraphus sign (zeta-shaped coronis) setting off paragraphs.
Script: Upright (titles slightly right-sloping). 10 lines = ca. 76 mm
Superlineation: None. Punctuation: Raised dot(s) in conjunction with a space. No tremas.
Collation: Signed on first and last page of the quire, top inner margin. No quire ornaments, monograms, headlines or catchwords.500 \\ Decoration: Marginal ornaments, paragraphus signs, signatures, extended letters. Colors: red (chemically altered); ?others.
Related fragments include a fragmentary bifolio and a leaf fragment now at Ann Arbor, shelfmark: Mich 158-59 (olim 550-59) (Cf. Hyvernat, p. 40, n.3). The fragments at Ann Arbor contain 1) Hebrews 11:21-32; 2) Calatians 6:13-18; 3) Ephesians 1:3-7, 10-14, 6:19-24; 4) Philippians 1:2-6, 9-11, 17-22 (with many lacunae and fragmentary verses), and are edited by Worrell. According to Worrell, "the text is equally independent of the Bohairic, Sahidic, and 'Bashmuric' versions, in so far as they are preserved for comparison."
