Manuscript seven successive leaves from the Catholic epistles written and illuminated in Egypt.
Text: contains most of James and part of 1 Peter.
Fols. 1, 2, 3, 11, 12 are fragments from the ancient binding pastedowns; text begins on fol. 4r and ends on 10v.
Written area ca. 272 x 202 mm. Divisions: Reddened dividers setting off Epistles; Ekthesis, major initial, and paragraphus sign (large vine-scroll coronis, sometimes with reddened obelus) setting off minor textual units; ekthesis, reddened enlarged initial, and paragraphus sign (vine-scroll coronis, painted diple, or reddened obelus) setting off paragraphs.paragraphs.
Script: Upright. 10 lines = ca. 72 mm
Superlineation: Non-standard. Punctuation: Raised reddened dot in conjunction with a space; 1 or more reddened dots and space filler at ends of paragraphs. Tremas.
Collation: No remains of signatures, quire ornaments, monograms, headlines or catchwords.
Decoration: marginal ornaments, initials, extended letters. Colors: red and yellow, chemically altered.
