Hagiography fragments
Manuscript leaf from a Hagiographic Narrative, written in Egypt before AD 822/23-913/14.
Formerly reused as the pastedown of MS M.573: "It was a fly leaf used as binding guard of the cover... H[yvernat] May 22, 1929" (note on paper stuck to the verso of fol. a of MS M.573).
Text: A fragment from a Hagiographic Narrative mentioning a certain "blessed" John, who is said to be archbishop, probably John Chrysostom archbishop of Constantinople, and also mentioning a certain Theognostus. The text on the verso is erased, probably so that it might face fol. 1r of MS M.573 as a blank page.
