12th century doeskin over boards, with pink leather thong and metal clasp, under a natural-color doeskin chemise with ample flaps and with edging of pink doeskin.

Glazier (1907-1962), New York; deposited in the Pierpont Morgan Library by the Trustees of the William S. Glazier Collection in 1963.
Notes: 

Ms. written and illuminated in England, probably in Essex, in the second half of the 12th century.
Decoration: 3 illuminated interlace initials, one with the figure of a warrior.
