Notes: 

A portraitist and genre painter, Albert Gliemann was a student at the academy in Dresden, where he settled following completion of his studies. He exhibited there and in Munich, and examples of his work are preserved in the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden. This is the only work by the artist in the Library's collection.
