Inscribed above the allegorical figures in the drawing, in pen and brown ink, by the artist, "Carita; giustitia; Amor / Avaritia; Ingiustitia, odio"; and at lower right, in pen and brown ink, "Palma".

Moscardo collection, Verona, which passed to the Marquis de Calceolari (no mark; see Lugt S. 2990a-g); Janos Scholz, New York (no mark; see Lugt S. 2933b).
